James F. Kenefick
Chairman & CEO
A serial entrepreneur and sustainability expert, Jim Kenefick has been implementing triple-bottom line best practices (people, planet and profits) for more than 20 years. Focused primarily in the technology, media and telecom sectors, Jim put his strategic investment and entrepreneurial leadership skills to use serving as managing partner, CEO, director and impact investor. His career includes leading three companies from start-ups to revenue growth of $15, $30 and $70 million and raising more than $500 million in capital to create companies worth over $750 million in market capital.
Co-Founder & Director
A major focus of Matt Bauer’s career for the past 15 years has been helping to lead the movement to leverage telecommunications as a force for social impact. His first position was with the U.S. House Telecom & Finance Subcommittee back in the mid ’80s and then went on to found three companies and three nonprofits, one of which was BetterWorld Telecom.
John (J.P.) McCormick
VP of Business Development & Co-Founder
J.P. joined BetterWorld Telecom in the fall of 2002 and brings more than 15 years of sales experience to BetterWorld Telecom. Prior to joining BetterWorld, J.P. worked for MCI, MFS, Westinghouse Communications, Qwest and Level Three Communications. J.P Graduated from West Virginia University in 1989. J.P. and his wife, Lisa, live in Alexandria Virginia.
Colin is an experienced marketing leader with a track record of running initiatives that create predictable revenue and growth for technology companies. His focus is on B2B digital marketing, content strategy, and analytics. At Better World, Colin is spearheading the website launch project along with a brand update for marketing materials.
VP of Operations & Training
John comes to BetterWorld with more than 15 years of technology experience in operations and leadership roles for non-profits and professional service organizations. John is well suited as our new Director of Customer Operations and Training, as most recently, he has held leadership roles in two Chicago-area businesses that completed a comprehensive technology modernization project and a long-term plan to go Cloud first. Prior to those positions, John was the Senior Director of Technology for Easter Seals, one of the largest voluntary health organizations in the US.
Customer Success Manager
Jenna brings more than a decade of experience in developing and executing marketing strategies, implementing continuous improvement projects and leading high performing teams. Serving as BetterWorld’s Customer Success Manager, she has wide-ranging responsibilities including the company’s day-to-day customer and technical support, VoIP planning, and monitoring and keeping track of all communications-related regulations.
Seasoned B2B sales professional, account manager and Internet marketing consultant. Experience working in fast paced sales and customer service CRM environments, requiring strong organizational and technical skills.
David has more than 20 years experience in telecom and network services and equipment sales and product management. From 1998 to 2005, he served as Director of Consulting Engineering at Juniper Networks, leading a team of engineers providing key customer consulting and technical support for the first customer deployments growing to over $1 billion in revenues. He joined Better World Telecom in the fall of 2006, supporting sales and operations efforts.
